Genesis 6:5

And GOD [Lord] saw that the wickedness of man [was] great in the earth, and [that] every imagination of the thoughts [intent or thought] of his heart [was] only evil continually [Lit, all the day].

Genesis 6:4

There were giants [Hebrew: Nephilim, might or fallen ones] in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God came in unto the  daughters of men, and they bare [children] to them, the same [became] mighty men which [were] of old, men of renown.


Note:  Nephilim refer's to the fallen angels (see http://www.jewishencyclopedia.com/articles/11442-nephilim)

Genesis 6:3

And the LORD said, My spirit shall not always strive [Lit. abide] with man, for that he also [is] flesh: yet his days shall be an hundred and twenty years.

Genesis 6:2

That the sons of God saw the daughters of men that they [were] fair; and they took them wives of all which they chose.

Genesis 6:1

And it came to pass, when men began to multiply on the face of the earth, and daughters were born unto them,

Genesis 5:32

And Noah was five hundred years old: and Noah begat Shem, Ham, and Japheth.




Note:  The three sons of Noah were born 1556 years after the creation of Adam.

Genesis 5:31

And all the days of Lamech were seven hundred seventy and seven years: and he died.


Note: Lamech was the last of the pre-Floor patriarchs and he died just before the flood.  Thus, God allowed all the patriarch's to go to their graves in peace before the flood.

Genesis 5:30

And Lamech lived after he begat Noah five hundred ninety and five years, and begat sons and daughters:

Genesis 5:29

And he called his name Noah [Lit, "rest"], saying, This [same] shall comfort us concerning our work and toil of our hands, because of the ground which the LORD hath cursed.

Noah was born 1056 years after the creation of Adam.

Genesis 5:28

And Lamech lived an hundred eighty and two years, and begat a son:

Genesis 5:27

And all the days of Methuselah were nine hundred sixty and nine years: and he died.

Note:  Methuselah lived to see the birth of Noah's 3 sons, and died just before the flood...

And Methuselah lived after he begat Lamech seven hundred eighty and two years, and begat sons and daughters:
