And Abraham said, Because I thought, Surely the fear of God [is] not in this place; and they will slay me for [on account of] my wife's sake.
(Geneva Bible) - Then Abraham answered, Because I thought thus, Surely the (l) fear of God is not in this place, and they will slay me for my wife’s sake.
(l) He sheweth that no honesty can be hoped for, where the fear of God is not.
